Hospital Laboratory Equipment

A brief description of our hospital and laboratory equipment range follows. You can obtain further details on the ventilated workstation on our download page or for more information visit the JME website.

VENTILATED WORKSTATIONS

Designed for use in Mortuary, Pathology and other laboratory areas these workstations have applications for dissection, histology, trimming & staining. Generally designed to connect to the clients existing extract or ventilation equipment the air is extracted from the sump area pulling air downwards through the perforated worktop enabling operations to be carried out in a safe environment whilst eliminating operator fatigue. As a significant variant to this we offer the option of recirculation using a self contained fan filter unit housed within the fabrication. Available in peninsular or island styles, together with a choice of work surface and sink configuration, the free standing fully ventilated units are manufactured from high quality stainless steel factory and are pre-plumbed, pre-wired, fully tested and certified prior to dispatch. Other accessories extend to polypropylene cutting boards, hand held trigger operated wash down shower, macerator, remote controlled sparge wash down system, inspection lamps and airflow monitoring systems.

CROSSFLOW STATIONS

The principle differs from downdraught insofar as the ventilation of the work area is achieved by extracting air at the rear of the worktop, thus offering a clear and level working surface. The design employs a single or multiple rear upstand that incorporates extract slots so heavier than air fumes and vapours are then drawn across and away from the working surface. Principles advantages are a uniform ‘perforation free’ prep area which is not only easier to clean, but as a simpler fabrication is more cost effective.

VENTILATED SINKS

We offer a range of standalone fully self contained ventilated sinks extending the principle of the downdraught workstation. Useful for applications where the pouring or liquid transfer operations may produce noxious fumes requiring specific extract.

VENTED SPECIMEN STORES

Ventilated Wet Specimen Stores provide a fully exhausted enclosure used to contain and safely remove airborne noxious fumes and gases. The design draws air in at low level along the full length of the store with air exhaust through high level extract baffles built into the roof panels. Fitted with static shelving as standard the stainless steel double skin construction is fitted with easy access sliding framed glazed doors allowing ‘wheel in’ access for mobile tray storage, whilst the modular design permits banked and back to back configurations of almost any size.

FUME CUPBOARDS (BENCH OR WALK IN)

We manufacture a range of laboratory fume cupboards designed for either bench mount or walk-in applications and built to meet the requirements of BS EN 14175. With a choice of Constant Air Volume (CAV) or Variable Air Volume (VAV) design the units are available in standard widths of 1200, 1500, 1800, and 2000mm. The inner chambers are available in a large choice of materials to best suit the application, including S316 grade fully welded and radiused stainless steel fully welded polypropylene, toughened glass, solid grade laminate, composites, solid epoxy resin, ceramic etc.

FUME EXTRACTION SYSTEMS

An important function of our fume cupboard and ventilated workstation is the safe and effective installation of the associated ventilation system. We provide the necessary design criteria for our equipment or are able to offer a turnkey installation package to ensure correct function and performance.

CLEANROOM TABLES

Featuring an all stainless steel construction our range of freestanding tables is available with powered or manual height adjustment and with a choice of work surfaces ranging from perforated to solid stainless but extending to and including laminate (Trespa), composite (Corian) or Anti-static ESD laminates.
